5 years in clubland is a century in ordinary time given how quickly trends and music change. For any club night to be running 5 years after it’s launch is one thing, for it to be at the very peak of it appeal, attracting bigger crowds and better guests than ever, is phenomenal.

The Doctor’s Orders is that phenomenon. Creating a definate party atmosphere to only the finest Hip-Hop sounds around meant The Doctor’s Order was and is a unique event. Despite many pretenders to the crown since the launch party at Herbal back in July 2005 a non-stop barrage of quality events throughout London and now the UK has seen The Doctor’s Orders secure the title of “The kings of the capital’s Hip-Hop scene” (Time Out) and with line ups like the one celebrating 5 years of great parties no one is coming near that title for a while yet.

The driving force behind all these events is the hardest working man in Hip-Hop the one they call Spin Doctor. Not only does he ceaselessly provide the musical highlights of the nights but also chooses the guests and oversees all the promotion. Never one to count his chickens he is over the moon to see The Doctor’s Orders still riding high after half a decade.

For this very special occasion we have an incredibly special line up. Headling tonight is the man that has done as much as anyone to popularise Hip-Hop in the UK the one and only Tim Westwood who will be spinning an exclusive “Golden Age’ set of late 80’s to mid 90’s classics for The Doctor’s Orders. Having cut his teeth on pirate radio Tim has been holding down the airwaves since the mid 80’s and championing all styles of Hip-Hop to a huge audience. While reaching a younger crowd through his current 1xtra show many older shows are still held on to by those that recorded them religiously to hear not only the newest and hottest bangers that Tim had before even many DJs in the states but also to see who might come off the conveyor belt of Hip-Hop’s A-list to pop into the studio. Despite a wealth of compilations and radio awards to his name it is in the club that the big dawg really comes to life so make sure you are there to witness this exclusive “Golden Age” set!

Returning to London for the first time since his appearance at the 4th Birthday at Herbal is Detroit’s own Guilty Simpson. He has been a busy man since his last trip over the pond and will be performing tracks off his incredible new Stones Throw album “OJ Simpson” along with loads of his brilliant thought provoking tracks that are already a staple favourite of The Doctor’s Orders regulars. Having torn the roof off last time around we can expect more of the same this time around.

Always one to represent their home turf The Doctor’s Orders have been lucky enough to host sets from a who’s who of the UK’s Hip-Hop talent. One crew who have individually represented more than any other has been the countries most multi talented DJ crew the Extended Playerz. Mr Thing has played at more events for The Doctor’s Orders than anyone other than Spin Doctor. Shortee Blitz and DJ MK as residents at The Doctor’s Orders South London home, On The Real @ Plan B and never one to be left out Harry Love has been heard rocking several of The Doctor’s Orders parties including Brighton and Plymouth in just the last 3 months. Tonight three of the crew are going in on 6 turntables to show just why they have been such a regular part in the UK’s best Hip-Hop party.

Making sure that everyone rocks all night through is the Foreign Beggars’ DJ Nonames who willl be treating the hardcore to a set of Dubstep and Grime. As part of one of the most forward thinking crews this country has ever produced he continues to keep his finger on the pulse of the newest music coming out and treats crowds all over the world to his sets of dance-floor dynamite as only he can.

Warming up the set as only he can is one of the fastest rising stars of the London Hip-Hop scene, Chris P Cuts. Having cut his teeth rocking free parties throughout the city he has since been heard on Kiss FM as well as The Doctor’s Orders events in London and Brighton. As easy on the cut as he is in the mix he has found his natural place amongst his peers spinning at these great events.
