For another bank holiday special Back 2 Boogie has once again pulled out all the stops to bring you an all-star line up for supply over 12 hours of the finest soul sounds around. With one room dedicated as always to sounds of 80’s Soul & 70’s Disco in the other we celebrate the king of pop’s birthday with sets dedicated to the work of the one and only Michael Jackson.

As ever topping the bill is the legend that is Soul II Soul’s Jazzie B. Having done more than anyone to push the boundaries of soul and dance music to the British audience he is thrilled as always to be spinning to this dedicated crowd of soul fans.

He is joined by Sean P who through compilations for the likes of Joey Negro’s Z Records, BBE and more has brought little known soul and boogie classics to the ears of many as he will do again with his set tonight.

Chris Philips has been a staple name on the London airwaves for years now and loves these opportunities to spin his beloved soul sounds live in the club. Neo Soul producers YamWho? & Blackbeard will be going back to back in a two and a half hour set of classic Michael Jackson from his days with his brothers as the Jackson 5 to his days as the worlds biggest super star.

Bringing the boogie to the basement are a dream team of DJs. Red Greg has been packing them in to his regular Dalston parties for a couple of years now while through his years behind the counters of London’s best record shops Johnny Reckless has bought and sold more classic Soul and Boogie records than most people have heard. As the head honcho of R2 Records Kyri is the responsible for many great sounds hitting the shelves of your local record emporium and with this huge collection of great sounds he will be heating up things in the basement to boiling point.

Finishing off what is already a phenomenal line up are Back 2 Boogie resident Ben Waist & the man responsible for the best of any of the 100’s of Michael Jackson mixes recorded Chris Read.

With ten great DJs, twelve hours and two rooms this is the bank holiday party for all real soul fans!
