When Faith’s Stuart Patterson told Spin Doctor of The Doctor’s Orders how much fun he had been having dusting off his old 80’s Hip-Hop for a few friends at a early summer BBQ the seed was planted. A couple of month later here we are with three of the capital’s strongest clubbing brands; The Doctor’s Orders, Southern Hospitality & East Village all coming together to bring this new night dedicated to a often forgotten era of the 20th Century’s greatest art form, Hip-Hop.

With these names behind it you know this is not some flash in the pan, trendy night trying to make a quick buck out of 80’s revivalism but a night born out of a real love and respect for what was a exciting & fun age of Gold Chains, crisp Lee jeans, Shell toes, locking, popping, breakin’ and no fakin!

Spin Doctor the driving force behind The Doctor’s Orders promotions cannot wait to get his hands dirty in the crates.
“For me the Hip-Hop of the 80’s is the real party Hip-Hop. Up-tempo, banging beats, thudding 808 bass, it is made for dancing to.”
Excited to get the opportunity to play records that the kids in the clubs have slept on for too long he sees this as a real opportunity for some “Edutainment”.

Stuart Patterson is perhaps best known for his love of house and the legendary Faith parties but that is only half the story. Having been there at the inception of house he knows that Hip-Hop played as much a part of that scene as disco and electro.
“Everyone was playing Hip-Hop. There were not enough house records to fill a night and back then people we not so precious about their genres. I can’t wait to bring it back!”
With a collection of originals 12’s that many would kill for there ain’t no half stepping with Stuart on the case.

Rob Breezy is the self-proclaimed everyman of Hip-Hop. As happy and comfortable playing the latest dirty south banger as he is a Mid 90’s Boom Bap the opportunity to show his age was too good an opportunity to miss.
“The 80’s beats are so exciting. You can hear the experimentation in the use of breaks and the steady advance of technology. It gives that period of Hip-Hop a real character that is often slept on. I’m so on it!”
With his regular Hip-Hop Karaoke nights and Southern Hospitality parties at the social on lock this is another string to the bow of the man that has something for everyone.

Special Guests will include a selection of those you many not have thought of to be down with this sound. To show the wide reaching roots of Hip-Hop DJs that are perhaps best known for their love of House, Disco, Soul, Jazz etc will come through for their chance to blow the cobwebs off a few classic 12’s from the likes of Marley Marl, Kool Moe Dee, Sugar Bear, The Furious 5, Run DMC and loads more forgotten acts that will sound as banging on the East Village system today as they did in the parks back in the day.
