The Doctor’s Orders Present Jehst ‘The Dragon Of An Ordinary Family’ Album Launch 10pm-5am £15 Advance tickets Jehst (LIVE) feat. Micall Parknsun & Jazz T Download Jehst's New Single 'England' for free HERE Billy Brimstone is back. Yes, Jehst, certainly the finest emcee to ever blossom out of the Huddersfield, if not the UK, is releasing his new album ‘The Dragon Of An Ordinary Family’ in June and to launch the LP, The Doctor’s Orders are throwing a very special party in Room One at FABRICLIVE featuring an incredible line up of some of the world’s finest DJs. Jehst’s influence on the UK Hip-Hop scene since he emerged 12 years ago is categorically undeniable. Known for his lyrical dexterity, and increasingly as a producer in his own right. His previous albums and collected works, ‘Return of the Drifter,’ ‘Falling Down’ and ‘Nuke Proof Suit,’ have become home-grown classics celebrated not only within the UK community, but around the world. After an extended period of radio silence, ‘Dragon...’ marks an exemplary return to form and an elevation in terms of both Jehst’s lyrical concept and production. Hailing from Queens, New York Rob Swift is one of the most creative DJs ever to grace a pair of turntables. He started DJing at 12, as is probably best known for his part in the turntablist crew X-Men (aka X-Ecutioners). After winning the East Coast DMC championship and featuring in the seminal DJ documentary ‘Scratch,’ Rob has worked with a varied mix of musicians including jazz legend Herbie Hancock, Linkin Park and Cypress Hill to name a few. More recently he has fused classical music with Hip-Hop in projects ‘The Architect’ and ‘Sketches of The Architect’ but on the night he’ll be taking it back to where it all started, by cold rocking the party. Also joining us from the big apple is legendary radio jock Stretch Armstrong who alongside Bobbito premiered legendary Hip-Hop heavyweights like Jay-Z, Biggie, Nas, Wu Tang Clan and Mobb Deep on their radio show while they were all still unsigned. Their show was voted the ‘Best of All Time’ by influential Hip-Hop publication The Source. Representing the best in UK talent we have two of the Extended Players in the shape of Mr Thing and Harry Love who will be going head to head in a 4 deck set. The Doctor’s Orders head honcho Spin Doctor joins them bringing his own raw party flavour as does Rinse FM’s own Hip-Hop prophet, and Eglo Records co-founder, Alexander Nut who will be taking things up tempo spinning his unique blend of soulful future sounds. Getting things warmed up and making sure the tone keeps bubbling are The Doctor’s Orders favourites Chris P Cuts and host MC Prankster respectively.
